Flu Bug...Please Be Gone

Wow, what a week/weekend this has been. Hopefully it will start to get better. As you read in my post on Wednesday, Deker cut his chin on Monday. His chin is healing really well. But Thursday afternoon, Deker threw another curve ball at us.

On Thursday afternoon around 4:00, the boys got up from their naps. I brought them downstairs for their afternoon snack, put Deker on a stool at our island and went to the pantry to decide what to have for our snack. I came out of the pantry and Deker started throwing up. He continued to throw-up every 45 minutes to an hour. The last time being around 8:00. We were sitting in Keagan & Deker's room and had just finished reading our books, praying and starting to say goodnight when the last time happened. We decided to go ahead and put him in his bed and hope for the best that night. He slept through the night, woke up the next morning starving and has been fine ever since.

Then Sunday morning, Andrew woke up not feeling very good. He decided to stay home from church which was good because he threw up a lot while we were gone. The last time being around 12:00 and then was just achy the rest of the day.

Sunday night, we put the boys to bed and around 11:30 that night I all of a sudden heard something and somehow (mother's intuition) immediately knew that Keagan was throwing up. I made Andrew come up with me and when I walked into their room, Keagan was standing on his bed in a pool of vomit and Deker was somewhat crying, probably because the noise scared him and we was trying to figure out what was going on. Andrew took Keagan into the bathroom, I picked up Deker to calm him down and then Andrew came in and stripped Keagan's bed. Then I got Deker back into his bed. We then washed up Keagan and put in in clean jammies.

Because two people have been through this already, we were 99% sure there was going to be more. We took Keagan downstairs with us, put him on our bed for a moment while Andrew rinsed out sheets and blankets and then Keagan and Andrew set up camp on our bathroom and bedroom floor. We brought down a bunch of washable blankets put some down on the bathroom floor with Keagan's head right at the door into our room and Andrew set up camp on our bedroom floor with his head right at the door into the bathrooom and a bucket right beside them. They were then, unfortunately, up every hour or so until about 5:00 this morning with Keagan throwing up. (Andrew had me sleep on the couch in the living room.) Keagan woke up seeming to feel better, just tired and hasn't thrown up since.

Needless to say...we are all feeling quite tired today. Keagan took a nice long nap this afternoon (I woke him up after 3 hours) and is now laying on the couch watching a little cartoon. He has been eating a little today and is keeping it down.

Now, Andrew and I are praying, crossing our fingers and "kocking on wood" that I don't get it next. Especially since Andrew goes back to work tomorrow and if I do get it, I will be dealing with that and the little boys all on my own.

I am also hoping that those kids and people that Keagan were around on Sunday don't get this nasty bug. I am also hoping that the rest of this week is better and less crazy than last week.
