Ladies Weekend 2008 aka Weekend with "Mori"

This past weekend, I was able to go to Utah and spend the weekend with my fabulous sisters, sisters-in-laws and my mom. We had such a great weekend together!!! We stayed in a condo up the canyon outside of Ogden Utah. We all arrived on Friday and then departed on Sunday. The very first thing on our agenda was to pull out all the goodies and start the weekend out right by eating. We had such a fun time eating, talking, eating, shopping, eating, playing games and we even went to "My Fair Lady" which was put on by a community Theater. We played a fun game named ImaginIff which led us to renaming my Mom "Mori" which we ended up calling her all weekend long.

Thank you to my sisters & mom for such a great weekend. Also a big thanks to Andrew and all our husbands for being so willing to take the kids for the weekend so we could get away and spend some quality girl time together.

Keagan on the Tractor

Keagan absolutely loves tractors. After we moved into our new home, two new houses were built. On the days that there were tractors outside, he would sit in our front window with the blind open and watch them for quite a long time. Last Thursday Anna & Chris (Andrew's sister) invited us over for dinner. We went to their home which is right by the organic farm that they are growing. Keagan was so excited to see the Tractor outside. He sat on the tractor and "drove" it until we made him come inside.

The Nursery

Because we now have Keagan out of the crib, we were able to get the nursery set up this week as well. Andrew had Tuesday off from work this week and so we decided we might as well put the nursery together. Here are some pictures of how it is turning out. In Andrew's words "we think it is as cute as beaver".

Keagan's Room

Last weekend, we got Keagan switched over to a twin bed. On Friday night, Andrew and Keagan got his new bed and dresser up in his room. Keagan was VERY excited about his new bed. As soon as we got the bed put up, Keagan kept climbing up on it and saying "night night". He was very excited to go to sleep in his new bed....That is until the next day. We put a bed rail up that we thought would keep him from falling off, but we were wrong. He fell off the foot of his bed not once, but twice that night. Once around 9:30 pm and then again around 2:30 am. Needless to say, his nap the next day and going to bed that second night was very difficult for him. I think because he was afraid of falling off again. The good news is that he has gotten used to it and hasn't fallen off since that first night (thank goodness!). Here is a picture of Keagan laying in his bed with his blankets asking to go to bed. We hadn't even got his jammies on or anything!

The past few weeks, Andrew and I have been spending time in the evenings making Keagan a quilt and curtains for his room. We had bought the pictures that are on the walls last year and decided to use those colors for the quilt. We finally got the curtains up tonight, so here are some pictures of Keagan's room.

Keagan has been tagged

Thanks to Naomi (aka Ranell), Keagan was tagged. We need to say eight things about Keagan and then at the end, Keagan will tag another child, so here it goes...

1. Keagan was born on May 5, 2006. He came as quite the surprise because he wasn't due until June 13. Because he was born so early, he spent 10 days in the NICU.

2. Keagan has quite the curly head of hair. Almost everytime we are out in public, he will get at least one person talking about how curly his hair is and a lot of people want to touch it. I don't really blame them because I like playing with it as well.

3. Keagan loves to flirt to get attention and then acts shy. Whenever we are out and about, he says "hi" to lots of people but then as soon as he gets their attention, he acts like he is shy.

4. Keagan's favorite foods are rice krispes, hot dogs and noodles. When I ask him what he wants for breakfast, he always says "krispes" which is Rice Krispes. Then when it is lunch time and I ask him what he wants for lunch he says noodles and hot dogs over and over. Thank goodness he is still able to be pleased by most anything.

5. Keagan has to have EVERYTHING exactly the same, time and time again. One day, Andrew turned some cartoons on for Keagan. He kept getting really close to the TV and so Andrew put a pillow on the floor and told Keagan to sit on it. So, now everytime I let him watch cartoons, he has to get the pillow, his blanket and his bunny, sit on his pillow with is bunny beside him and the blanket over his lap. He is like this with EVERYTHING he does.

6. Keagan loves to "help". At this age, it isn't much of a help, but he trys anyway and I try my best to let him because I don't want to discourage him from helping. For instance, whenever we get the broom out to sweep, he will take all of the kitchen chairs and his high chair and line them up so they are out of the dinning room/kitchen. Then, when we are done, he will put them all back.

7. Keagan looooves to read. The first thing Keagan does in the morning is get a book out and want you to read it to him. Over the course of a day, we usually end up reading some books at least 3 or 4 times.

8. Keagan loves to be tickled. Once you start, he will come back and say tickle and want you to tickle him again and again. There has been quite a few times when he is sitting on my lap and I will tickle his side a couple of times and then I will stop, then he puts my hand back on his side and says tickle. He will do this over and over.

Keagan now tags Brenna & Braelyn, have fun Marie.
